Hello, I’m Sarah Jane

 

And I am childless not by choice. I have experienced unexplained infertility, multiple miscarriages, and a chronic medical condition leading to a hysterectomy.

I've been an avid Yoga student for the past sixteen years and a teacher for the past eleven. I have over 1200 hours of Yoga + meditation teacher training and over 4000 hours of teaching experience. I am a Certified Health and Life Coach trained by the Health Coach Institute and a Grief Ritual Facilitator trained by Francis Weller.

I live on a small island off the west coast of Canada with my husband, Alex and our furbaby, Leo.

As you know, being unable to have a child if you would like to is a devastating experience. Leaning hard into self-compassion, befriending my body with trauma-informed yoga, and tending to my grief throughout the rollercoaster ride to childlessness and beyond have been invaluable.

I am honoured to share my story and experiences, combined with my professional skills as an embodiment teacher, a coach and a grief tender, with you on your journey to reclaiming your life​.

Let's explore how to move energy when feelings are big, practice being comfortable with the uncomfortable, and create space to be where we are at.

Throughout my journey, cultivating a relationship with grief, practicing self-compassion, and finding others with similar experiences have been lifelines for me.

 

 This path is non-linear; sometimes, it feels like a circle. You deserve guidance and support on your journey.

During our time together, I’ll guide you to:

Integrate Grief: Tend + Befriend 

  • Learn the language of grief so you can recognize and name it.

  • Build your grief-tending tool kit to contain and integrate your sorrow.

  • Experience group grief rituals to recognize and alchemize loss.

  • Come out of isolation and be compassionately witnessed. See your experience reflected in the experiences of fellow participants. 

Amplify Agency: Recognize you have choices and make them

  • Learn and practice tender and fierce self-compassion to help you set healthy boundaries, build confidence, and take inspired action.

  • Explore nervous system regulation with trauma-informed Yoga, embodiment practices and breath work to help build safe and authentic connections with yourself, your body and others.

  • Uncover what you desire and create doable action steps to explore your ideas and identity with curiosity.

Embody Possibility: Live from a place of curiosity and compassion

  • Connect with other childless women and know the feeling of belonging. Feel seen and heard within the group.

  • Uncover who you are beyond your childlessness. Explore possibilities through guided meditation, journaling, and sharing.

  • Be part of an inspirational group of fellow childless women. Witness and cheer each other on as you curiously delve into what brings you joy.

Guidance

  • Six 75-minute live + online embodiment practice sessions.

  • Tuesdays at 10.30 am PST / 1.30 pm EST / 6.30 pm GMT. Dates are November 28th, December 12th + 26th, January 9th + 23rd and February 6th.

  • Experiential and embodiment practices - nervous system regulation, trauma-informed yoga, breathwork and relational practices.

  • Access to audio recordings, videos and PDFs of the practices and experiential exercises on a beautiful and easy-to-use online studio for six months following the course.

  • Resource list of books, podcasts, role models, and more

Connection

  • Seven 75-minute live group coaching calls, teaching, reflective writing with prompts, small and whole group sharing and Q+A. Be witnessed and ask questions.

  • Timing: 10.30 am PST / 1.30 pm EST / 6.30 pm GMT  

  • Dates:   Sunday November 19th, Monday December 4th, Sundays December 17th + 31st,  Sundays January 14th + 28th, and  Sunday February 11th.

  • Opening Circle to set intentions and connect.

  • Closing circle to reflect and appreciate.

 Who is this course for?

Any childless woman on the path to acceptance

This includes, and is not limited to:

  • Those that did or did not try fertility treatments.

  • Those with unexplained infertility.

  • Those whose partners are infertile.

  • Those who didn't have an opportunity to try and conceive.

  • Childless stepmothers.

  • Those with chronic medical conditions resulting in the inability to have a child.

  • Any reason you cannot have a child.

  • Those having fertility treatments, trying to conceive or pursuing adoption.

  • Those experiencing secondary infertility.

  • Those unwilling to show up with kindness and curiosity for themselves and others.

  • Those looking for a workout or exercise program.

    A no-cost payment plan is available at the checkout.

  • There will be opportunities to share, ask questions, witness and be witnessed. This course is about connecting with yourself and opening up to possibilities while being in a supportive community with others who have similar yet unique experiences.

    Some women haven’t had the opportunity to talk with others about their experiences and this is a motivation for them to participate and share.

    Some women don’t want to share their stories but being surrounded by other childless not by choice women is comforting and nurturing.

    The choice is yours.

  • Absolutely. Embodiment practices such as movement is only one of many tools we will be exploring in this course. It is suitable for all levels - absolute beginners right through to very experienced practitioners.

    The approach to movement we will be taking is more about what the shapes feel like rather than look like. We aren’t trying to replicate ‘perfect’ shapes, instead using practice to amp up listening to our bodies.

  • Yes, recordings of the embodiment practice and PDF’s of the journalling and experiential exercises are available at the online studio for six months after the program ends.

    Recordings of the group coaching will not be made for privacy reasons. It is best to attend these sessions live. The exercises that we do will be available as PDF’s and/or audio lessons, but you won’t get the benefits of sharing, being witnessed or hearing others.

  • This is an experiential course and the results will vary. Those who participate with curiosity and kindness for themselves and others will get the most out of it. As with any experiential activity, the benefits of movement, meditation, self-reflection and being in a community are cumulative. Yoga, meditation and journaling can help you feel grounded, re-establish trust and connection with your body, nurture the quiet voice of intuition, regain self-confidence, reconnect with a sense of self that got lost along the way, and uncover joy.

  • You can choose to leave your camera off or turn it away during the active parts of the embodiment sessions.

    I encourage participants to show up with the camera on for the introductions and coaching sessions as it promotes a sense of trust and connection.

  • There are four 75 minute live sessions each month for three months.

    You will have access to recorded versions of the practices within 48hrs of the live class.

    You will have access to the recorded embodiment sessions for six months from the end of the course.

    These are experiential tools that have a cumulative benefit.

  • Yes. There will be space for Q & A at the group coaching sessions, and I am available via email between sessions. Plus, we will have 2 - 30 minute private coaching calls during the program. Plus, the opportunity to schedule more 1:1 time for a special rate.
